For over 10 years, PJS Air has completed numerous building upgrades at the University of Sydney, to suit multiple faculty requirements, including:
• building refurbishments
• upgrading PC2 labs
• upgrading building management systems (BMS)
• upgrading infrastructure
• replacing central plant
• installing standalone systems and equipment in classrooms, labs, lecture theatres and libraries
The team has worked through a variety of different contracts – from construct-only to full design and construct. Receiving designs from 30% – 80% completion, the team worked to complete each design and ensure it is fit-for- purpose.
For projects completed through an ECI process, the team worked to provide value engineering by reviewing documentation and end-user requirements. As a part of this process, we have worked alongside the Builder to define and refine the scope to find cost savings.
Our performance working through the ECI process has cultivated a level of trust with university engineers whom we have developed a close, collaborative relationship with. PJS Air are often invited to contribute to the design of each project, ensure it is fit-for-purpose and certify the works.
